Egly-Ouriet produces a still, red wine called "Coteaux Champenois Ambonnay Rouge" from a single vineyard in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, known for its old vines and clay-rich soil.

Egly-Ouriet's "Coteaux Champenois Ambonnay Rouge" is a still (non-sparkling) red wine, a rare and sought-after expression of Pinot Noir from the Champagne region.

The wine is sourced from a single vineyard located directly below "Les Crayères" in Ambonnay, a village known for its Grand Cru vineyards in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.

The vineyard features 60+ year old vines, south-facing, and with more clay, which is considered a perfect site for "Coteaux Champenois".

The grapes are 100% Pinot Noir, fermented and aged in oak barrels (30% new) for 22 months, and bottled by hand directly from barrel.

The wine is described as having a "Burgundian" character, with aromas of dark berries, spices, rose petals, and toasty oak. It's known for its medium to full-bodied, deep, and gourmand profile, with layered fruit and rich tannins.

This particular cuvée is from a single parcel of four plots of mid-slope Ambonnay old vines in an amphitheatre, with low yields and vinified and aged entirely in oak barrels for 18–22 months.

The wine has received high praise, with some critics calling it the best Coteaux Champenois wine available and one of the greatest Pinot Noirs outside of Burgundy.
