The harvest began on 9 September. A cool spring in April delayed budburst, but May made up for this slight delay with unseasonably warm temperatures that continued into June. After a month of thundery rain and overcast skies in July, temperatures became scorching from mid-August onwards (39°C) and then the first 12 days of September (34°C)! As a result, phenolic ripening accelerated in the last month. The grapes came off abundantly, so it was necessary to limit production with a green harvest at the beginning of July. The quality of the juice was very good, with acidity lower than normal. The wines are charming, deep and long, with supple, full-bodied tannins. They can be enjoyed young, but the Grands Crus will have to wait a few decades.
