PoirE Domfront is a new appellation in the southern part of Normandy where pears are king. This pear cider is made principally with the variety plant de blanc, and its excellent acidity frame the pear and spice flavors. PoirE Domfront is made in the same style as low alcohol apple based ciders of Normandy, with 4-5% alcohol and slightly sparkling; it differs from its apple-based counterpart with a slightly brighter, golden color and (of course) its recognizably pear flavor… a truly delicious, slightly off-dry drink that works excellently as a palate cleanser before a meal or just a delicious drink on a hot afternoon.
