The Gran Caus range is the heart of Can Ràfols dels Caus, clearly reflecting their philosophy and style. These were the first wines created by Carlos Esteva in the 1980s, which continually seek to perfect, both in the vineyard and the winery. One of the first great Xarello from the Penedès. Also combining it with Chenin Blanc, was an innovative addition to traditional blends. Deep and subtle with filigree freshness without oak aging.
A blend of 75% Xarel·lo, 15% Chenin Blanc, 10% Chardonnay from certified organic grapes. Gently crushed, pressed without destemming. Spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts of the varieties separately at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and cement vats. Aged in bottle for 1 year before release. Light fining and filtration, sulphur only on bottling. 30,000 bottles per year.
Golden yellow in color with greenish reflections. Ripe lemon, lean peach and white flowers stand out on the nose. Subtle on the palate with a creamy texture, firm acidity and a pleasant mineral saline hint. Unctuous finish with refreshing citrus and hay notes.
