Pecheur
Rare Bottle Alerts are quick offers on very rare bottles that are in limited quantities and rarely found in our markets or the US. They are in tiny quantities and sell out fast.
We offered out just a couple cases of this bottle exactly 1 year ago, and they sold in minutes. The domaine has just released another handful of cases and they have just arrived.
IN ADDITION, we have some very rare Jura library releases from Jacques Puffeney and Montborgeau. In 2022, a rickety old cask of 40 year old Chardonnay was found in the grandparent's cellar of Domaine Pecheur.

Pecheur is a hyper-classic and focused producer of minuscule amounts (they farm about 8ha total!) of Jura reds, slightly oxidative whites, and sous voile aged Vin Jaune & Chateau Chalon in the town of Darbonnay, Cotes du Jura. The importer, Rosenthal Wine Merchants, was recently blinded on this "forgotten cask" by Christian & Patricia Pecheur on their visit with the Domaine. With their minds blown right then and there, they were offered a small amount of the cask for import into the states. A pathetic 120 bottles were imported again in 2024 for the entire US market.
These are the times as wine buyers and wine drinkers that we absolutely live for.
We often have access to purposeful library releases from parts of the world where it is more common--like Germany & Italy, but never have we seen a Cotes du Jura blanc of this age released direct from the cellars, and from arguably one of the most famous vintages in France on record. We often see "forgotten casks" released from rum distilleries, or sherry and port producers, but never have we come across this from tiny wine producers like Pecheur. This 100% Chardonnay retains a sense of freshness and classic Jura chiseled edge, ripping acidity, with enormous concentration, without the full-on effect of a classic, Savignin-based Vin Jaune.
For those of you who share our love with this amazing region, and appreciate that wine is a stamp of time and place captured within the bottle, in this case 4 decades old, you should not miss this opportunity.
We also want to offer a smattering of library release wines from Montborgeau, and retired Jura Icon, Jacques Puffenay!
