Vincent Dureuil-Janthial

Vincent Dureuil-Janthial

If there is one name to recognize in the Cote Chalonnais, it's Vincent Dureuil-Janthial.  There are simply no peers to this wonderfully gifted winemaker, in the region as a whole, but without a doubt in the appellation of Rully.  Vincent is an artist, he's ben making wines after his father since he was a teenager in the 90s, and it shows in his pristinely crafted wines, made from an embarrassingly rich holding of vines across Rully and Puligny-Montrachet.  Now with decades more experience under his belt, Vincent has take then domaine from an undiscovered gem, to cult, superstar status.

There are no grand cru vines in the Cote Chalonnais, but Vincent holds a smattering of the top lieux dit and 1er cru sites in the region, many of which include very old vines, and all have been farmed organically for decades--which is another feather in his cap that sets him apart from so many.  Vinification for the Pinot Noirs includes de-stemming and indigenous yeast fermentations in stainless steel before being transferred to French oak barrels, for up to 18 months with up to 1/3 being new barrels depending on the cru. The reds are unfined and unfiltered.  The whites are whole cluster pressed and fermented in French oak, and Vincent will stir the lees (battonage) gently only in the winter months and will rack and bottle (unfined and unfilitered) by the moon cycles.  Very little use of sulfur is utilized at fermentation and/or bottling of all wines.

This is a very special domaine, of which we have only 1 to 6 bottles of each to offer, and that's all we get.  Pricing is unbelievable on this domaine and of this quality, relative to where Burgundy has headed over the past 5 vintages, and we have seen no price increases from Vincent with this release!

Shipping and store pickup is available as always.

We are generously offering an extra 10% off on any 6 bottles or more!
