The vines produce beautifully balanced clusters with thick skins, which contributes towards a wealth of color and complex flavors. In the glass the wine shows off a completely opaque dark purple hue with a deep plum halo. A crescendo of aromas swell from the glass suggesting black raspberry, violet, crushed rock and lavender. The mouth-coating palate highlights notes of macerated blueberry, black cherry reduction, baking spice, cassis, fresh tobacco and sage. For such a powerfully concentrated wine, there is also a brilliant amount of nuance and levity on the palate that culminates with a lengthy, floral finish.
