La Spinetta Barolo Campe comes from the Campe vineyard in Grinzane Cavour. . The vineyard is 8 hectares and the vines are between 35-45 years old. Campe vineyard is grown on calcareous soil at 280 meters above sea level, at a southern exposure, surrounding the La Spinetta-Campe winery. Harvest usually happens in the beginning of October, after which time, the grapes are fermented in rotofermenters for 7 to 8 days. The wine then ages for two years new, medium toasted, French oak barrique. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrique. Barolo Campe is aged for another year in bottle before its release.
