Our first edition of Strange Currencies and debut Nero d’Avola is inky-hued and delicious. Native to Sicily, this variety is known for balancing tannic power with vibrant, refreshing acidity - and Strange Currencies does just that: Opening with dusty, brambly cherry and plum notes, the wine is full and structured on the palate with notes of baking spice, turned earth, leather, and cigar tobacco. Chewy tannins, hints of citrus peel and spice linger on the long finish.
