Emme Wines Carignan Ricetti Vineyard Enhorabuena Rose Redwood Valley 2023 750ml

Organic. 100% Carignan. Drawn from the single vineyard Ricetti in the Redwood Valley AVA in Mendocino. In general, the Carignan grown at Ricetti is slow to ripen, so it can produce a beautiful rosé with nice acidity as well as a very nice, “crunchy” red wine. This is winemaker Rosalind Reynold’s direct-press version of this fruit; foot-stomped and soaked on the skins for a few hours before pressing to soak some color and tannin into the juice. Pressed off, put into stainless steel for ferment. The wine was then aged six months in a combination of steel tank and neutral oak barrels. Blended in spring. Unfined, unfiltered, 20ppm SO2 added. ‘Enhorabuena’ means congratulations, or more literally, ‘in the good hour.’
