1.09 hectares total in the lieux-dits of “Les Petits Gamets” and “En Echards” (just below 1er En Champans). Vines are on average, 45+ years old. 100% destemmed, aged in older barrels (2-3 years old).
It was a joyous and energetic, an absolutely charming bottle showing sappy dark fred fruits, vivid raspberry, red currants, soft purple flowers, a long, very polished finish. One of my favorite things about it was how accessible it was now. So drinkable and enjoyable out of the gate, unlike other burgundies that can be disjointed or sleepy in their youth. The Volnay was a stunner, I can only imagine how the cru and lieu dits are drinking.
