Wine from a single plot of Labastida composed of 80% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha and 10% Viura. Vines are 100+ years old and surface area is around .5ha of land.
This unique vineyard sits under the Sierra del Toloño and was planted in 1920 on clay-calcareous soil and sandy soil on the surface. Manual harvest in boxes and subsequent spontaneous fermentation in stainless tanks with light daily pumping over. Aging in 500 and 225 liter French barrels for a total time of 16 months. A small amount of SO2 at bottling but otherwise unstabilized, unfiltered and unclarified. Limited production - we have about a pallet for the whole country!
