Domaine Tempier

Domaine Tempier

Rarely do we see an allocation of Tempier, but today we have 3!

In 1941, Tempier just about single-handedly petitioned the Bandol appellation into existence, and since, has been considered the best producer in the region.

When it comes to Rosé,  Domaine Tempier reigns supreme. Few wines are as effortlessly delicious or joyful to drink while still offering real structure, complexity, and age-worthiness. It has defined the category, and is a wine that has captivated collectors and sommeliers for decades. A benchmark for Bandol and a pillar of Provence, it's built on old-vine Mourvedre and crafted with a level of precision rarely found in rosé winemaking.

The reds are considered the be the finest Mourvedre based wines in the world.  Blended with Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah—they are among France's top ageable wines. If you have been lucky enough to drink a Tempier Bandol rouge with age, you will see why they share the stage with the great ageable wines of the world--Barolo, Cornas, Hermitage, & Bordeaux.  Structured and powerful in their youth, they will age gracefully for decades.  When a collector has old Tempier in their cellar, you know they are have a deep understanding of wine.

Today we have a smattering of Tempier's Bandol Rose, as well as two rouge cuvees-- "Lulu et Lucien" and "La Tourtine"

Reds are in stock now, rose arrives Friday.
