La Querce Seconda Chianti 2019 750ml

We had been excited about this Chianti for a while now and knew it was outstanding, but opening a bottle last week for our Friday night in store tasting confirmed that.  Everyone flipped for it.  A 6 year old Chianti from the blockbuster 2019 vintage? From a tiny husband and wife run, certified organic winery in the far reaching northernmost corner of the Chianti DOCG? DUMB.  This is pure joy.  Fresh aromas of bright cherry, purple flowers, and wet stone. For not seeing any time in wood, the balance and just super sexy grape tannins are lovely, offering a lightly grippy texture to balance the bright red fruit on the mid palate.  It is such an amazing little wine for the money.
