Organic. 100% Muscat Vert. This is winemaker Rosalind Reynold’s first time making a 100% Muscat Vert; fruit was drawn from the single vineyard called Nakai in the Russian River Valley AVA. (She’d worked with this fruit previously, but yields were often low from this site, so it had been blended into other white cuvées). Direct pressed, racked off gross lees, fermented in stainless steel. Rested in a combination of one concrete egg and neutral oak barrels for six months. Unfined, unfiltered, 15ppm SO2 added. Rosalind adds, “The Sun Egg is a book by Swedish author Elsa Beskow, about an elf who finds an orange in the woods. One of my favorite stories as a child.”
