Organic, biodynamic practices. 100% Chardonnay. Raphäel St-Cyr is particularly proud of this single-vineyard, old-vine Beaujolais Blanc from this aptly named Chardonnay vineyard, located directly between his family winery and the now-famous La Galoche stream, planted in the 1950s. It's possible to label Chardonnay from this region as Bourgogne Blanc, but Raph is firmly/justly committed to the Beaujolais Blanc appellation, as this special sub-region of Les Pierre Dorées has something very particular in terroir and therefore to contribute to the name. Direct press, fermented in 100% neutral 228L barrels; the 2019 rested in concrete tank for an additional two years past the standard one year to 18 months of old barrel élevage. Unfined, unfiltered, zero SO2 added -- remarkable white wine, an indicator that Raph may be even better at the whites from around his home of Anse than his excellent cru Beaujolais from the villages to the north.
