If you’re not familiar with Leroux, he became the technical director of Comte Armand at 24, before which he enrolled in viticultural school at 15. In other words, the writing was on the wall. His style is polished, elegant, and vibrant. Despite rapidly trending toward ‘benchmark’ status amongst people who know what’s up, his wines still offer phenomenal value for the price.
Jasper Morris
93-95 Points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy: "Only three barrels made. Bright fresh refined purple. The nose has a dancing elegance, with its mineral traces that run through the palate. Super elegance, very nuanced, yet with an energy that builds behind. Shows some new oak which will be easily digested. A lovely finish, almost ethereal." 10/23
Burghound
92-94 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "This is also markedly floral in character with its blend of spice, the sauvage, plum, black cherry and underbrush notes. There is excellent volume to the delicious and muscular medium-bodied flavors that display an abundant minerality on the youthfully austere, balanced, dusty and beautifully long and firm finale. This too possesses excellent development potential. (Drink starting 2034)" 04/24
