A true "Vino de Parcela" from an old vineyard plot of “GRANXA VELLA”. “Vella” in Galician means "Old" - this vineyard is comprised of vines between 50-60 years old, at an elevation of 300m on sandy loam soils with a predominance of granite, and located next to a small Romanesque church from the 13th century. On the banks of the Cabe, the vineyards of that time (1960-1970) are characterized by planting Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera and other local varieties together.
A blend of 85% Mencía & 15% Garnacha Tintorera. Grapes are hand harvested. Vinification is carried out in open 1000 liter tanks. Spontaneous fermentation, maceration between 25 and 30 days, with gentle daily manual pumping over. Spontaneous malolactic and aging in used French oak barrels. Total production is 2,011 bottles.
