Variety: Pinot Noir. Vine Age: Planted in the 1940s/1950s. Terroir: Located at the northern end of Gevrey's Grands Crus, just after Ruchottes-Chambertin. The topsoil is rather sandy, with the hard, pink Premeaux limestone underneath. Vinification: 100% de-stemmed, 10-12 day pre-fermentation cold maceration, fermentation with pump-overs (punch-downs at end of fermentation), relatively rapid de-vatting to maintain balance. Aged 18-20 months in barrel (100% new).
