‘Les Charmes’ is the largest of Meursault’s Premier Crus. It produces white wines with natural opulence, floral aromas, and is less marked by minerality than other premier crus of Meursault. The plot these grapes are from is near the lower part of the vineyard and has reacted favorably to the hot and dry conditions associated with climate change. Covering 0.125 acres of vines, the vines were planted in 1950. The soil is reddish-brown with a strong clay component that retains moisture without promoting disease.
