Olga Raffault Chinon Rosé 2023 750ml

Last night after work I opened up the new release of Raffault's Chinon Rosé.  Every year, this is one of my favorite roses to drink.  It's just so unique and delicious. 100% Cab Franc, from the greatest terroir on earth for this grape variety.  We know of the inherent character of the reds made from Cab Franc in the Loire--aromatic red fruits, dusty cellar, pepper, earthy umami flavors, often gentle but sometimes chewy tannins.  Some of those things i don't want in my rose, but love in the reds.  But Raffault knows exactly what they are doing with this wine, their magic touch keep it fresh and summery, but also one of the most interesting, almost culinary styles of rose I've ever had-- it's like biting into a fresh watermelon topped cucumber.
